I am María José Morán, a Guatemalan visual artist working in contemporary surrealism and oil painting. I create portals between the visible world and the inner landscapes of emotion, memory, and imagination. Familiar objects become symbols: a boat takes root, chairs rise into an impossible tower, and a path opens toward an uncertain horizon. Through contrasts of vivid colour and quiet space, my work explores freedom, belonging, and transformation, inviting viewers to discover their own meanings.
