Portraits of Friends

This is a series I initially started as a mean of practice to develop the way I wanted to represent characters in future projects. It of course turned out differently and developed as a content of its own.
I wish to represent my friends in their environment, surrounded by objects that are meaningful to them through the use of codes of classical painting (structure, symbols, poses etc.) and different references, all contrasted by the modern and very present looks they all display.
Those drawings try to humbly question the status and long tradition of hand-drawn portraits and their relevance in an era that tends to be less and less physical.
