What do you work on while your baby sleeps?
My first week of motherhood has been a halocline both inadequacy and fulfillment.
everyone has told me, and told me, that this was the end of my artist career. That you can’t be an excellent mother and excel at your career at the same time. That it’s a unavailing goal of being a good parent while sacrificing pieces of yourself for your child. To which I just have to say- it is what you make of it. I’ve never been more inspired than knowing my moves an attitude are being absorbed by my newborn son. This body of work is a reflection of the conflicting thoughts while he sleeps and in my arms. The flowers representing time passing while the snakes are transformation. I've also been using much more color to depict the vivace in my life since becoming a mother.
