Rear Seat Diaries began in 2022 with casual photographs taken through the side window of a VW Caddy. Only later did the window frame become the starting point for a deliberate photographic practice. Since then, all photographs have been taken through the same side window of the same vehicle, maintaining a consistent spatial relationship between camera, window, and outside world. What connects the images is not their subject, method, or result, but the conditions under which they are made. Initially documentary, this open-ended practice has come to include experimental techniques and staged interventions. The vehicle may be moving or stationary; individual images can stand alone or form series of their own. The frame remains constant. What happens within it remains open.
