Remnants of Alaska

Heraclitus of Ephesus philosophized that nothing is permanent except change. I am both terrified and enchanted by his philosophy, so my habit of documentation in any form is a purposeful exercise in confrontation. I am torn between a drive to preserve what was known to me, and a drive to embrace the ever-shifting chaos. I'm particularly interested in human memory, and the duality of growth/deterioration in natural systems. This is a series of 35mm photographs that were soaked in a solution to manipulate the way they developed. Didn’t mean to erase all recognizable images on them, because they were records of my own memories, but ain’t that 100% the process of letting go?
