Growing up female felt like a delicate dance that always ended up with an aftermath of shame. The pressures and traumas caused by society, the medical field, "girl world" policing, and female friendships, left scars; both physical and psychological. My art focuses on my own personal experience navigating a world that expects perfection and all the ways in which I failed to achieve acceptance. These experience altered how I view the world, they haunt my mind and nag at my soul. Anxiety is my constant reminder of my inadequacies. I paint to bring light to the shame so it cannot grow and fester in the shadows.
