I see incredibly beautiful things everyday: oil slicks, succulents, broken emulsions, shadows rippling across stucco, cheap tinsel twinkling in the wind, trash bags shimmering under fluorescent lights. My work attempts to imprint these moments of beauty onto 35 mm film, each exposure a reminder that beauty isn’t endemic to pretty faces and national parks - it’s in enzymes and entropy changes, radial and bilateral symmetries, regeneration and refractions, erosion and decay. Much of our world is polluted and synthetic but my work attempts to show that its inherent elegance persists, that beauty can be found even in the places where we’ve given up looking for it.
