Michael and I met in passing at a creative retreat. We kept up with each other's work over Instagram, and finally met up again two years later when I was visiting LA. We shared our ambitions and struggles as artists over falafel platters. Afterwards, we had both just gotten new cameras, so we walked around passing them back and forth taking photos of each other. There was this house that stopped us both in our tracks, so he pulled up this song on his phone, put it in his shirt pocket, and danced.
