"Self Contained" is a covid-19 quarantine series shot throughout California depicting people of all walks of life under home quarantine. Families and individuals are contained in glass bubbles to enhance the isolation of being cut off from the outside world.
We are a husband/wife creative team called Rickett & Sones, based in Los Angeles. This social-distance-respecting project was produced with no crew, just us. We asked our subjects to use props and dress according to what most sums up their quarantine experience. When the project started, while quarantine was still new, the energy was much more somber. But as the weeks went on we found that often times people were eager to have fun with it and summarize their experience in the most colorful way possible.
As covid continues the project is ongoing.
