The series Self-Portrait Blue Apnea explores water, light, and identity through a photographic performance in my home swimming pool. Holding my breath and exhaling underwater, I create bubbles that reflect and refract light, transforming my facial features into abstract forms. Sunlight and ripples reshape my image, blurring the boundaries between portraiture and abstraction. Created without artificial intelligence or complex digital manipulation, the work embraces natural elements, experimentation, and chance.
