This series of images rediscovers photographs of myself from the past 25 years and reconstructs the remnants, scraps, and ephemera of my practice. The images of myself that I overlook, that I push to the side. Layers of crumpled papers and overloaded folders come together to tell a story of my practice's growth and myself as subject.
I am a London-based Kurdish-Iraqi filmmaker, visual artist, curator and researcher working across photography, video, and collage. My visual arts practice is rooted in the exploration of temporality, physicality, and memory. It explores the in-flux condition of human recollection and belonging to time and place.
