Sleep & Dream: A Tale of Two Worlds

Sleep is a biological necessity, yet severe deprivation impairs cognitive function, weakens immunity, and shortens lifespan. Fascinatingly, science reveals that humans dream in fleeting bursts of just three seconds. This series explores the harsh inequality of rest and dreams in Bangladesh. From a child sleeping beside clay fruits, to laborers on fishing nets, and a man on a cold sidewalk—these are the marginalized whose dreams are interrupted by survival. In stark contrast, we witness a child enveloped in luxury. Every human deserves the equal right to a healthy, normal sleep and peaceful dreams. Through this juxtaposition, the project highlights the quiet resilience of those who rest on concrete, questioning who truly holds the privilege of rest.
