Solitons of Love: a Dialectic on space | time | energy

This site-specific installation explored notions of space, time and energy as a synergy of various forces embodied within geomorphic abstract forms. The embodied forms recall ubiquitous patterns in nature, intimating the interplay between natural forces and industrial materials. The layout was influenced by tenets of Zen gardens. The purpose of a Zen garden is to act as a guise, as a physical representation of the world, aiming to transport an observer towards enlightenment via meditation on the true essence of reality. I selected industrial materials - paper, aluminum foil, and steel wire - and manually transformed them to subvert their practical purpose. Via materiality and spacial orchestration, I am inquiring on notions of perception and memory, as well as processes of transformation and metamorphosis.
