Submission Photography

Someplace.

Most of my working life has been spent making pretty pictures, the kind that make you want to go somewhere. But somewhere along the way, I started keeping a second set of photos. These are the ones I take in between: on a break, on a walk, waiting for a ride.

They're not really about where I was. They're about the things that usually get skipped over, like a sign on an empty road, a stack of chairs in the sun, a cart parked on the sand, a trolley in a hallway.

Most of the world, most of the time, looks like this: quiet, specific, and full of small, unpolished details. I'm not trying to turn these places into one look or one idea of "overlooked." I just want to put them side by side, each one distinct and ordinary at once.
