Hello, my name is Jack Herzog and I am an artist currently working in Los Angeles. About three years ago I left my job working on backgrounds for Bob's Burgers in order to pursue my sculptural practice. I make soft sculpture using fabric and foam, similar to upholstery. In my practice I try to investigate my anxieties surrounding masculinity and modern comforts. My background is in illustration, and my work tends to draw from the world of comics and cartoons. The aesthetic imbues the work with a vibrant irreverence that I hope can subvert the viewers expectations to create something that is engaging and worthwhile.

Most recently I organized a Covid Safe gallery in the neighboring garage, and I wanted to share the documentation from the show. I hope you enjoy the work.
