I base my work on concepts including pop culture, technology, nostalgia and classic figurative art.
My goal with this style is to bring a fresh perspective to the classic imagery of human forms. The human figure is what we all identify with and by adding elements such as energy and dynamic color, I've found that this enhances the visual language of what I'm trying to express in the painting. Working with classic shapes and utilizing nostalgia creates a sense of familiarity which I can then add emotional concepts such as self-reflection, disassociation, fulfillment and hope.
My style uses a prismatic color palette, inspired by the bold colors seen in street art style. Placing greater emphasis on color as a key element of composition, I aim to shape the painting into a reflection of my own visual identity.
