Submission Painting

Tearing apart, 2026

This painting is the first one I approached with the principle of quantum superposition in mind, as well as using such a horizontal thus narrative format, directly inspired by Leonora Carrington’s compositions.
I started with a drawing in the background, directly on the wood. In this first layer, you can notice some little hints of masterpieces from the Renaissance and the Flemish primitives. You can find the back of one of Van Eyck’s most famous painting, a fountain from Bosch’s Garden of Earthly Delights, entangled with free forms following a path of their own.
To this historical background, I added layered colors and textures, burned wood, poured wax, painted an old rug pattern, and added some of my typical flyers on a wall.
I wanted to create a full intertwined world, with a direction to follow in order to decipher it.
