Artistic Position
My work creates fragmented visual worlds in which
the familiar, the sacred, and the alien overlap. Aliens,
figures of the Virgin Mary, hybrid beings, and human
bodies encounter one another in scenes situated
between religious iconography, fiction, and an
increasingly estranged reality. At the center of my
work is the question of humanity and its possible
disappearance: Aliens take on human
characteristics, while humans themselves become
increasingly unfamiliar.
Formally, I combine late medieval painting traditions
and techniques with contemporary digital media.
Layered painting processes, glazing techniques, and
imagery reminiscent of historical painting meet AIgenerated visual material and digital image
manipulation.
