The Alphabet began when censorship made it difficult to share my body-based art online. I turned to my own body to find a language that could not be silenced. Over eight months in Martinique, I made self-portraits in natural light and discovered 26 letters already present in its folds, shadows and contours; I did not pose or construct them. Each photograph carries a feminine title and a line of poetry. Together, they ask us to look at the body beyond objectification, as a living language of vulnerability and freedom.
