I am painting a series of girls that are cartoonish, childlike and mythic. I think a lot about my childhood when I make these paintings. They are reflective of my inner world when I was a child, seen now as an adult. Some of the girls are zombies, some are princesses, some live on other galaxies, some are mythic goddesses. I am trying to represent an aspect of childhood in the woman I am now. Part of being human is being messy, fast and furious, happy and sad at the same time, and curious. These girls celebrate being alive.
