J. Humberto Tapia Pérez explores the human condition through the intersections of body, psyche, science, mythology and cultural memory. As a neurosurgeon and visual artist, he brings medical knowledge into dialogue with Mexican cosmology, Nahuatl heritage and European mythologies. His paintings investigate vulnerability, love, identity, death and transformation. Through expressive figures, symbolic compositions and layered textures, he creates visual narratives that question how human beings experience existence, preserve memory and search for meaning. His work moves between different cultural worlds, connecting personal experience with collective histories and universal questions of being.
