“The Last Stanza” is inspired by the poetry and often painfully tragic biographies of some of the brightest poets living in Russia during the turbulent transition from the Tsarist to the Soviet regime in the early 20th century.
For many of them, extraordinary creative talent coincided with an equally extraordinary vulnerability. Their lives ended prematurely, shaped by the destructive combination of political persecution, repression and, in some cases, self-destructive choices.

Tania Potapenko is a contemporary figurative artist based in Vantaa/Finland. Her work explores the complexities of human life experience, focusing on emotional states through portraiture and people-centred compositions. She examines moments of inner tension, doubt and vulnerability, conveyed through subtle shifts in expression, posture and gaze.
