The Oldhams

In the forefront of many issues in the air today including wildlife rights, national land, inter tribal issues and more, the Oldhams are a family who run a wild horse sanctuary on a working cattle ranch on the Wind River reservation. They are an example of what a modern day American family looks like. Half white and half Navajo, living on the wind river reservation that is mainly Northern Arapaho and Eastern Shoshone. Dwayne and Jess, his son, run the cattle ranch and the wild horse sanctuary. Dwayne is a working veterinarian and has a program occasionally working with previously incarcerated men getting them acclimated to life outside. The daughter Odessa, and her father worked to help get the sanctuary off the ground in 2016. This is the only sanctuary on a Native Reservation in the United States.
