This is the first piece of my collection, Dying to Create, Creating to Die. This piece was also the most difficult to make. I often find myself struggling with perfectionism, which always makes the first step the hardest. this painting went through multiple renditions, over months worth of time. For most of that time, I couldn’t gaze at this piece and see something I was proud of. After revisiting what this piece was trying to convey and what it meant to me, I could confidently finish working. This painting reflects the
concept of self-sabotage in return for comfort and security.
