The Traum(a)’s Kunstkammer

The Traum(a)’s Kunstkammer is a surreal black and white illustration zine that explores the life cycle of psychological trauma in the format of a museum pamphlet and a cabinet of curiosities, powered by dark humour, google searches, rudimentary physics knowledge, and emotional agony. It emerges from a trio of stimuli: the contemporary discourse on trauma, firsthand observations within mental health spheres, and a series of random unsettling still-life drawings. This leads to the core question – whether trauma and its symptoms can be visualized through a structured yet accessible framework – one that avoids sugarcoating and intellectualization, while honoring the survivor’s endured pain.
