I would define myself as a searcher of meaning. Specifically, I think of Phaedrus’s search for “quality” in Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, a search which was doomed to failure from the start, and yet one which I feel determined to explore myself despite the past results. My small findings during this hopeless search is my art.
There are several rules which I create by, but most importantly I do not sketch or plan my work prior to drawing, to me the process is about accepting failures with grace…. But sometimes I do edit out the too egregious errors digitally, if need be.
My art is the anxious head banging of someone trying to squeeze serenity out of the work of understanding meaning.
