Iʼve been cut open a few times and put back together with new parts. I grew up having surgeries; here and there getting a tune up like a car. Though, I always had to smile. It seemed like the right thing to do. I suppose I know this had a direct connection to me creating collage art. Like a life of odd omens it gave me the inspiration to translate realities though cutting and pasting.
I like to think of myself as a surgeon working with pieces of paper, cutting out around the edges to make new combinations. Itʼs within these new combinations that I get to make backdrops to dreams or other scenes. These paper places sometimes have flowers with faces or mushrooms that are bigger than stars. I try not to take myself too seriously. I like to see people smile when they look at my art.
