Devon Walz’s work is a depiction of an ethereal place where emotion, energy, form and movement intersect.
Her interest is in creating atmospheres that feel both familiar and alien at the same time. Each piece is a world in and of itself that seeks to communicate being and essence, rather than meaning. As such, while the shapes and marks used hint at something organic, they stop just short of representation.
She works in acrylic, spray paint and mixed media on canvas or paper, frequently alternating between techniques and materials throughout the process.
