Tristan Martinez (b.1996, Los Angeles, CA) is a multidisciplinary Artist based in New York, NY. He received his BFA from The School of The Art Institute of Chicago in 2020. Tristan's work zooms into the banal aspects of daily life with an aesthetic focus in the irony of late-stage capitalism. Through formal decisions, Tristan constructs ambiguous narratives that transcend individual identity and defy direct placement. Bridging from photography and painting, he challenges the viewer to find the importance of what is laid out in front of them. Tristan has been featured in group presentations with Shelter Gallery, My Pet Ram, The Latent Space, Subjectivley Objective, James Kenney Campus Gallery, and has shown internationally with Czong Institute for Contemporary Art.
