true/false is a kinetic sculpture exploring the mechanical process of change and transformation. As a grid of connected elements mounted on tubes of light, the individual parts work together to shift from black to white. This process of modification creates a multi-sensory work exploring how information is processed by a machine. The captivating motion of the device exposes the inherent movement and characteristics of the work itself. The pieces move in unison to achieve the rotation based on a basic ruleset; the state of the adjacent element. The physical characteristics of the machine create a dynamic transformation of itself to reveal the beauty that is hidden inside an algorithm.
