UNFURLED: Unsettling the Archive From a More-Than-Human Perspective

Jill Price is a Canadian artist exploring how unmaking can be a generative process that helps to redress unethical aspects of one's past. Currently considering the liveliness and importance of animals and plants for a sustainable future, Price uses word play and gallery archives in conjunction with animation, video, sound, sculpture and photography to speculate on how animals on the North American Fur Trade might begin to reclaim, interact with or reframe museums and the items held within collections.
Working mainly with reclaimed materials gathered from local thrift stores, Price pulls out other objects created form animal and vegetal beings to visualize how our interior and exterior worlds are physically and psychically linked.
