In a world where I feel constantly surrounded by noise, distraction and a forced addiction to screens, this piece sought to face that fear — to face myself without distraction for an entire day, hiking into the dunes and dragging a rock around in circles. A meaningless, repetitive task resembling some of the routines we find ourselves doing. Like those routines, this pattern I created will also disappear with time.

Through this act I sought to find a state of presence. To be fully present is a new luxury in the times we live in. A time of convenience, where each task has been made simple and easy to benefit a company and free up time to spend on a screen. This work serves as an exploration into self to find a state of presence, choosing deliberately hard routes instead of easy ones.
