Over the last two years a new body of still life paintings emerged. Focusing on clarity of vision and compositional simplicity at a time when the world stood still the new paintings have been a refreshing side project to my darker and more ornamental paintings of witchcraft. The new paintings aim to follow in the tradition of painters such as Adriaan Coorte, Juan de Zurbaran and Sanchez Cotan but change the path. I hope they express a new voice in the conversation through history.
