I live in Mexico City, one of the most surreal places in the world, where political tension is part of everyday life. Growing up in the ’80s, I was surrounded by bold colors and iconic pop culture characters, but also by a world shaped by political conflict. Today, many of my generation worry about our country’s future, while others choose to look away. Through my drawings, I explore the issues people often prefer to ignore. I use fantasy, science fiction, and colorful characters as a visual hook to draw people in. What starts as an eye-catching image becomes a spiral of questions and political reflections about the world we live in.
