Nicolás Menay’s drawings explore childhood through the shifting light between innocence and mystery. Rendered primarily in graphite and mechanical pencil, with occasional touches of color, his portraits bring together children, creatures, objects, and markings that evoke the symbolic, the archetypal, and the liminal. Working in miniature, he invites an intimate encounter with images that feel like fragile memories or vestiges of another world. Through slow, deliberate mark-making, drawing becomes a space for contemplation, vulnerability, playfulness, and enchantment.
