Suzel Grié-Hazoumé (b. 1990) is an Ivorian-Beninese artist, painter, and writer based in Abidjan. Signing her canvases as Haz-ié, she explores painting, literature, poetry, and visual arts.
Holding a Master’s in Environmental Law from Paris Descartes, her background fuels a deep interest in legal anthropology and the link between environmental protection and pre-colonial African spiritualities.
She has published two books, including the novel Murmures (2024), awarded the Prix de l’Édition at SILA (Salon International du Livre d’Abidjan) and a Special Mention for the Prix Jean-Marie Adiaffi in 2025. Since 2023, her artwork has been exhibited internationally, including in Côte d’Ivoire, France, Burkina Faso, the UAE, and the UK.
