sooim lee (b. Seoul, Korea) is a New York–based artist whose multidisciplinary practice encompasses painting, printmaking, and performance. Since moving to New York in 1981, her work has explored themes of memory, place, time, and cultural identity through layered materials and poetic visual language. She received a B.F.A. and M.F.A. in Painting from Hong-Ik University, Seoul, and an M.A. in Printmaking from New York University. Recent projects include the performance Calling Back, Calling Forward, From This Blanket at Print Center New York (2024). Her solo exhibition SOO IM LEE: across time and place was presented at Art Projects International, New York (2017). Selected group exhibitions include 30 Years (2023), Color as Space (2022), and Paper and Process 3 (2021) at Art Projects International.
