I’ve been meaning to post about Ian Francis for awhile. He draws, paints, collages, paints again, draws some more, you get the idea. I was largely inspired by his work a couple years ago when I found myself designing lots of music packaging (my work holds a candle to Francis’ work).
Artist Joel Daniel Phillips examines San Francisco’s Bayview-Hunters Point neighbourhood through three friends and deeply-rooted residents. Defined by the Hunters Point Shipyard (a shuttered naval base closed due to extensive environmental contamination), the men work as recyclers within daily proximity to hazardous waste. Colorado-based artist Heidi Annalise creates impressionistic landscapes inside the lids of old mint tins, using the base to mix her paints. See more images below. Read More
