Converse / (PRODUCT)RED – Event!
I am inviting YOU to my party! Thursday Feb 19th – 8 pm to 11 pm – Livestock (1709 West 4th). Canada’s premier sneaker store Livestock and I are hosting a party/charity event for the long-awaited (for me anyways) release of the shoe I designed for Converse & (PRODUCT)RED. All profits from shoes sold at the event will be donated directly to The Global Fund by Livestock!

If you want to get your hands on a pair show up around 8pm to make sure you can get them. Your purchase will help the fight against AIDS in Africa! Come on out even if you don’t want the shoes, it would be fun to meet you all in person! RSVP the FACEBOOK EVENT or just show up!

A really quick word regarding the design of the shoe – the shoes are covered in 100 hands which represent the people of Africa calling out for help and also those around the world answering their call. I didn’t want to sugar-coat what’s going on in Africa but I did want the message to be a hopeful one so that’s why that bit of sky blue is in there. I’ll tell you more when I see you!

Thank you to all the newspapers, magazines, websites, radio stations, and tv talkshows that have helped spread the word about the shoe and more importantly the message behind them! And thank you to all of you who have told a friend!

For those that missed it the first time, I posted more information here:

wow sounds amazing, to be involved in something like this. congrats!
Looks great!
How cool is that to have designed a shoe? They look great and I like how you designed it for hightops. Was this your idea for design from the get go, or did you have another idea you couldn’t quite work out?
Would really like to be there. I’ll support you in spirit!
thank you, all of you!
dale – yes Converse let me have 100% control over the shoe from the imagery to the materials. it was a really cool experience working with such freedom.
Are they going to sell these online too?
not sure, i haven’t heard at this point but i will let people know if i hear of any online retailers
talk to Baggins shoes in Victoria – they often special order chucks in from the USA and ship worldwide – even as far as japan and belgium – and are very supportive of the RED chucks. They have a website – google baggins/chucks
Sweeeet!
Baggins doesn’t have them in. But they are going to notify me if they do.
RAD SHOES, JEFF!
Hamada, sweet shoes man! How did you get lined up with product red?
Wow! Cool Product
I live far far away from vancouver.
Can I order a pair online?
http://www.deadstock.ca will have them available online sometime today!
This is hand made?
