  • These drawings are awesome! I wonder how large the originals are.

  • Z0NU5

These reminded me of this guy, who you featured recently: http://www.booooooom.com/2009/08/04/shawn-kuruneru-drawings/

  • That second drawing is sahweeeeet.

    • yea i’d like to see more of that style

  • Vim

This drawings are awesome, some reason they seem a bit eerie, this artists style is unique, the main aspects seems to be the strands of different shades and how many lines can intervene with each other. Justin Nelson how long would these drawings take you to do?

  • amazing!! axesome!! i’d love to see the originals!!

    • his flick’r page is really worth been visited!! Bravo Justin and thanks again jeff for sharing so many nice things with us!

Photographer Thomas Prior Captures Mexican Festival of Sledgehammers and Homemade Explosives

thomas-prior36

Men in the Mexican town of San Juan de la Vega wield sledgehammers loaded with homemade explosives, in this series of intense photographs by American photographer Thomas Prior.

Part of an annual festival honouring St. John the Baptist, residents take part in the exploding sledgehammer ritual, dodging deadly shrapnel to commemorate a time when the town’s namesake was able to triumph over some gold-stealing bandits! See more images from “Bomba” below, available now through Dashwood Books.
