Interstate Billboard Art Provides Unexpected Moments of Beauty

Kane5

“Healing Tool” is part of Brian Kane’s ongoing series “Art for Commuters.” Designed specifically for people driving along Interstate 93 and 95 in Massachusetts, the installation is meant to provide an unexpected moment of beauty. The billboard displays images which change hourly and daily. At night for instance, high resolutions images of the moon are displayed in relation to the actual moon phases. More images from Kane’s project and short video below!

Artist Spotlight: Carson Davis Brown

“Mass” is a project by artist Carson Davis Brown in which he creates sculptures inside of big-box stores and other places of mass. He constructs the unauthorized installations, photographs them, and then leaves them to be discovered by shoppers and staff. Images of the installations are printed, framed (using un-sold frames), and exhibited inside the stores without permission. See more images from the series below as well as video clips documenting the building of installations using cameras tethered to in-store camera displays!
