Drawings by Mark Whalen a.k.a. Kill Pixie. Sydney. It is amazing how much his style has changed in just the last couple years.

After seeing Sia’s Letterman performance of Soon We’ll Be Found I had to find out more about her. The Australian pop singer released an album earlier this year and I believe Beck is featured on it. This is the quirky official video, directed by Claire Carré.
Watch the Letterman performance after the jump!
Some great record sleeves and other graphic work from Mitch Beige Brown outta Sydney, Australia.
Sydney-based film makers Jason van Genderen (director), Shane Emmett (producer), and John Roy (music composer) created an amazing short that just won $20,000 and Best Film at Tropfest NY 2008 (which I believe is the world’s largest short film festival). The best part is that it was shot on a total budget of $57, and captured using cellphones, nothing else!
I’ll continue with the Sci-Fi theme a bit – here’s some illustrations by Australian Dan McPharlin. I found out about McPharlin over on everyone’s favourite Sci-Fi blog: Sci-Fi-O-Rama.
Some creamy illustrations by Kareena Zerefos. A designer turned illustrator, Australia’s lucky to have her. Love the colouring on this owl.
Meggs recently had a show out in Australia presented by Stussy and for many it was an introduction to a fantastic artist in the vein of Aaron Noble and Anthony Lister. Deconstructing comic book imagery seems to be in vogue right now and I am loving it.
