Paintings by artist Sean Mahan from Neptune Beach, Florida. Working with graphite and acrylic washes on wood, Mahan’s work is both sweet and sorrowful as his depictions of childlike wonder are often paired with his interest in exploring structures of power and control.
In this particular series, painted on vintage fabric, Mahan explores the tension between the warmth of his human characters and their alienation from the everyday objects that surround them. See more images below.
