Another exciting announcement for filmmakers, STORYHIVE’s Web Series Edition is back and applications are open! This is a big opportunity for filmmakers based in BC and Alberta to pitch their show ideas. Get a team together and apply for one of 40 $20,000 production grants to make a pilot for a locally based web series (yes, they’re funding 40). Deadline is September 19!
Some key things to note:
- The pilot can be 10 to 30 minutes long, giving you lots of flexibility to choose a project length that suits your story.
- There is no voting in this edition. The projects will be selected by a jury.
- The 40 awarded pilot episodes will be eligible for one of two Series Awards, a $60,000 grant to produce up to 10 additional episodes.
The selected creators will also receive customized career training, filmmaking mentorship and distribution of their projects on select TELUS platforms.
