“The North Fork”, by photographer Trent Davis Bailey is a narrative journey through the complex terrain of family, landscape and memory.
A Colorado native, Bailey has fond memories of the remote valley in western Colorado, where he spent time as a child enjoying the adventurous, free-range lifestyle of his cousins. After nearly 20 years away due to family tensions, his 2011 return to the scene of his fond memories prompted a seven-year-long photo project; documenting the landscape and its inhabitants, while also rekindling relationships with family and building new connections through the process.
The resulting series is a tender and intimate glimpse into the seemingly timeless and ethereal world of the North Fork Valley.
