A selection of work from Miami-based artist Mwanel Pierre-Louis’s recent solo exhibition (click here for previous post). Mwanel’s paintings place a strong emphasis on the relationship between subject and colour, combining realism and abstraction into a narrative that draws from personal interactions and pop references. In his latest collection, Mawanel explores the specific energies and emotional layers gleaned from his conversations with people:

“These scenarios give duality and emotions throughout each piece… These are everyday people that are willing to shed off their daily stories to me and allow me to convey that through painting.”
