A selection of images by New York-based photographer and educator Jenna Westra. Inspired by performance documentation and postmodern choreography, Westra uses the human body as her main subject to create photographs that transform accidental or casual movements into choreographed actions for the camera. Westra describes her use of photography as “a conceptual practice that translates a living three dimensional world into a structural narrative of curves and lines that loosely emphasize the physical traits of photographic media”.
