A selection of new paintings by one of our favourites, artist Dan Climan, who was born in Montreal and received his BFA from the Emily Carr University of Art + Design in Vancouver, Canada. While in quarantine, Climan explored the idea of escapism while under surveillance, paring down narrative ideas to a series of very specific moments. He says the precision in his work is the product of nearly a decade spent working as a tattooer and graphic designer.
