Photographer Spotlight: Ryan Jenq

Brookyln-based photographer Ryan Jenq’s dreamy still life images integrate storytelling and emotion, painting the objects that he photographs in a romantic light and bringing a fresh perspective to the age-old genre. He draws inspiration from classic photographers working with still life like Josef Sudek, Saul Leiter, and Paolo Roversi, as well as art, film and music. Relating the scenes that he photographs to human stories, Jenq hopes to “make still life more vivid,” bringing life and movement to his images.
