Book Giveaway: “Avocado Ibuprofen” by Jaakko Pallasvuo

Fans of Avocado Ibuprofen will be excited to see that 49 of Jaakko Pallasvuo’s comic strips have been turned into a beautiful 208-page spot color offset book, published by Perfectly Acceptable. For those unfamiliar, Pallasvuo is a Finnish artist who has gained a cult following for his MS Paint webcomics which brilliantly critique current culture. Despite often painting a dreary picture of the world—often specifically from the point of view of a creative person—Avocado Ibuprofen provides a certain kind of comfort. If Instagram makes you feel like you’re trapped on a giant sinking ship, Pallasvuo’s work is a nice reminder that at least we’re all sliding into the ocean together.

The strip above is one of Matt’s (from Perfectly Acceptable) favs, and below is another strip included in the collection! We have a copy to giveaway to a lucky reader (based in North America) so if you want to snag it, scroll around @avocado_ibuprofen and leave a comment on this post with a memorable bit of text from one of the comics. We’ll pick a winner on Friday. And give @perfectlyacceptable a follow while you’re at it, it’s not a requirement but they have great taste and produce excellent books!
